Celebrates Ground Breaking Day!

"This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad"

These words of the Psalmist resonated through every fiber of my being Sunday the 25th of September, as we broke ground for our new church. Our small Catholic faith community was joined to the larger Church through the presence of our Bishop of Savannah, Kevin Boland, and Fr. Gerry Schreck, the Dean of our Columbus Deanery, Pastor of St. Anne and the mission of Christ The King. I was so proud of all of you for turning out in such great numbers to participate in this important milestone in the history of our Church.

The presence of the many state, county and local dignitaires was a testament to the high regard that they hold for you the people of Christ The King. Your reputation as a caring Church and one that is fully integrated into the life of Harris County was indeed recognized by their attendance.

A special word of thanks must go to Robert McEleney, Vice President and Managing Director of Callaway Gardens Resort, Preserve, Community for organizing the magnificent brunch at Southern Pine. The Bishop was most impressed! We deserve to celebrate this unique day together in beautiful surroundings enjoying each other's company and partaking in a feast worthy of the occasion. God knows we have had many challenging days thus far and the future will offer us more.

Together we shall succeed. Please stay the course!

God has blessed me to lead you in this great endeavor. May He continue to keep us together. May His choicest blessings be on you and yours.
